The house
Two apartments, one staircase between them
Villa Julija is built as two apartments — 110 m² and 80 m² — joined by an internal staircase, on a quiet street above Kaštel Lukšić. The house is let as a whole, to one group at a time: fourteen people get two kitchens, two living rooms and three bathrooms, so a large family or two travelling together can spread out without ever queuing for anything. Five bedrooms, seven beds, and nobody sleeps on a sofa unless they want to.

Pool & garden
A heated pool that is yours alone
Eight metres by four, a metre and a half deep — thirty-two square metres of private pool, heated, with steps gentle enough for small children and grandparents. Beside it stands the summer kitchen: a grill, fridge, stove, dishwasher, two long tables and a television outdoors, which is where most evenings end up. There is an outdoor fireplace, sun loungers, and fruit trees you are welcome to pick from.

Between Split and Trogir
Kaštel Lukšić is one of the seven stone villages strung along Kaštela bay, with Kozjak mountain rising behind it and the Adriatic in front. Fourteen minutes on foot brings you to the 15th-century Vitturi Castle, where the legend of Miljenko and Dobrila — Dalmatia's Romeo and Juliet — is set. It is quiet enough to sleep with the windows open, and close enough that the airport is a ten-minute drive.

Your host organises the things that take local knowledge: a day at Krka National Park and its waterfalls, rafting on the Cetina river, and a boat out to the islands and the Blue Lagoon. Say what your group is in the mood for and it will be sorted before you arrive.
